MobilePay migration guides

On 12 March 2024, we launched a joint platform with more than 11 million users and more than 400,000 merchants across the Nordics. There is now one app, branded locally as MobilePay in Denmark and Finland, and as Vipps in Norway.

Are you currently using the MobilePay APIs for your payment integration needs?

In that case, we’re excited to introduce you to the Vipps MobilePay API platform, a reliable and versatile payment solution that can make the migration hassle-free and even dazzle you with its ease of use and features. To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend using our migration guides, which will provide step-by-step instructions and best practices for integrating with the Vipps MobilePay APIs.

info

These pages are for developers migrating to the new API platform. If you didn't make the integration yourself, talk with your partner.

If you have questions about the app or pricing changes, see vippsmobilepay.com.

Authentication, Management and Test - Must read for all products

On the new platform we will have a joint authentication solution used across the API platform. We will also introduce the Management API with option to retrieve merchant data and handle product orders. Read more here.

MobilePay Invoice

We must replace the current MobilePay Invoice API with new ePayment API on the joint platform by 12 March 2024. This will require a new integration. Use the Invoice to ePayment migration guide to ease the transition.

MobilePay Point of Sale

We must replace the current MobilePay Point of Sale API with new ePayment API on the joint platform by 12 March 2024. This will require a new integration. Use the Point of Sale to ePayment migration guide to ease the transition.

MobilePay App Payments

Your existing App Payments integration will continue to work, but some functionality will be changing or closed starting from the moment we transition to the joint platform. Please visit the MobilePay developer documentation for details.

Once we switch to the joint platform on 12 March 2024, you can transition to Vipps MobilePay ePayment API using the App Payments to ePayment migration guide. This is relevant for existing merchants and partner doing a full reintegration.

MobilePay Reporting

You need to integrate to Vipps MobilePay Report API as the Reporting API will be unavailable after we move to facades. Your existing Reporting API integration will stop working. Use the Reporting API to Report API migration guide.

MobilePay Online

There is no need to reintegrate into the new solution. Your existing Online integration will continue to work, but some functionality will be changing or closed starting from the moment we transition to the joint platform. Please visit the MobilePay developer documentation for details.

MobilePay Subscriptions

Facade: Your existing Subscriptions Payments integration will continue to work, but some functionality will be changing or closed starting from the moment we launch the joint platform. Please visit the MobilePay Facade documentation for details. The facade is a backup plan—just in case you can't hit the New Wallet Launch deadline on the 12th of March.

Seamless Transition to the Recurring API:

We recommend that you dive into the Recurring API as soon as you have time. It's the real deal for the long haul, and sooner or later, you're going to have to hook up with the Recurring API anyway.

After we have switched to joint platform in on 12th of March 2024, you can transition to Vipps MobilePay Recurring API using the Subscriptions to Recurring migration guide. This is relevant for existing merchants and partner doing a full reintegration.

Test the NEW Recurring API

If you have any further questions or need assistance with your integration, feel free to reach out. We are here to help and ensure a smooth process for you. Looking forward to your successful integration!
